"The Children's Defense Fund (CDF) is a non-profit child advocacy organization that has worked relentlessly for 40 years to ensure a level playing field for all children. We champion policies and programs that lift children out of poverty; protect them from abuse and neglect; and ensure their access to health care, quality education and a moral and spiritual foundation. Supported by foundation and corporate grants and individual donations, CDF advocates nationwide on behalf of children to ensure children are always a priority.
We are a national organization with the capacity to work for children at federal, state and community levels across the country. We have our headquarters in Washington, D.C., and offices in California, Minnesota, Mississippi, New York, Louisiana, Ohio, South Carolina and Texas. Through these offices, we expand our work into North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas and New Jersey. One current issue that I have become increasingly aware of from this organization is the amount of children's deaths from senseless acts such as shootings. I currently get posts from this organization on my facebook page and I read the current postings. Daily I will get posts from the organization at the astronomical deaths and other data from children and their families. I have been shocked several times.

Hi Natasha, it is good to have such foundations that have the interest of our children at the forefront. Many children are really suffering and it is through groups such as these that they are rescued. Let us continue to spread the word.

ReplyDeleteThis organization's mission is similar to the organization I chose. (Zero to Three). I chose that organization because I believe that the start to a good, successful life is a healthy and strong foundation. I appreciate these organizations for taking the time to help young children and their families. You chose to share an issue that needs to be heard. Senseless act such as shootings is an issue that does not sit well with me. I have had a family member and a friend die from shootings. Although they were not children, I still feel this issue needs to be heard. I am looking forward to learning more about this organization from your future posts. Good job!

ReplyDeleteThe Child Defense Fund is an organization that I am very familiar with I think it's great what they do for young children and families. The education and awareness gained from this website and organization helps the common man with ways to help make this world a better place for children. It's organizations like this that give children in low income areas and beyond a fair chance at life successfully.

ReplyDeleteI think that it is absolutely amazing that the Children Defense Fund (CDC) has been doing so much to help children around the world. The mission of the organisation is very explicit on their focus with children. I particularly like the part that talks of the child's moral start in life. Many children are being denied a moral start in life.
I am pleased to hear that the organization is highlighting the senseless deaths of young people. Could you say if they are speaking out on the Zimmerman Case?
